Hundreds of residents in Winfield, Illinois attended the annual Open House for the Winfield Fire District. The Open House featured fire safety demonstrations, a visit from an emergency helicopter crew, “Sparky” the fire awareness dog and the Prize Wheel.
Alongside all the fire coats hanging on the wall was a line of tables offering home safety and health tips, including child registration courtesy of New York Life, natural gas safety at home from NICOR, and bike helmet safety sponsored by Cadence Health. While eight year old Marcus Potter from unincorporated Wheaton and five year-old Christina Morris from Winfield both won stuffed teddy bears after spinning the Cadence prize wheel, their parents received information about the importance of using bike helmets.
