Prize Wheel Brings Fun and Freebies to the 44th Annual Lotus Festival

The Los Angeles Lotus Festival returns for its 44th year on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13 at Echo Park Lake, and ABC7 is joining the celebration with its Street Team, free photo booth, and fan-favorite Large Prize Wheel.

Hosted by the Department of Recreation and Parks and the Council of Oriental Organizations, the festival is a vibrant tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities of Southern California. This year’s theme honors the sacred lotus flower—symbol of rebirth, purity, and life—celebrated in full bloom across the largest lotus bed in the country.

A Celebration of Culture, Community, and Connection

Since its inception in 1972, the Lotus Festival has grown into one of Los Angeles’ most cherished cultural events, drawing over 125,000 attendees each year. From dragon boat races to traditional dance and music performances, the festival offers something for everyone. Cultural exhibits, family-friendly activities, and youth scholarship programs provide meaningful opportunities to learn about and celebrate the diversity of the Pacific Rim.

After overcoming years of budget cuts and undergoing a major transformation in 1990, the Lotus Festival continues to thrive as a free, inclusive event for all ages. While general admission and most activities are complimentary, some premium attractions may require a separate ticket.
